World Food Safety Day 7 June

World Food Safety Day on 7 June 2024 will draw attention to food safety incidents. This year’s theme underlines the importance of being prepared for food safety incidents, no matter how mild or severe they can be. https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-food-safety-day/2024

In New Zealand, think Cyclone Gabrielle, Salmonella Enteritidis in poultry and the prospect of highly pathogenic avian influenza landing here. 

There’ll always be new problems to deal with.  But today, let’s celebrate the gains we’ve made through science, research, good government regulation, and the continually improving professional practices of our members.
