Head of NZ Food Safety (MPI), Vince Arbuckle, launched the Food Safety Science plan for Aotearoa New Zealand at the NZIFST conference last week (7 & 8 July). The Centre was tasked with consulting widely and pulling the plan together. The aim is to coordinate and prioritise spending on food safety science in this country to increase efficiency and impact. This major effort was led by former director, Dr Catherine McLeod, and Deputy Director, Dr Tim Harwood. They would like to thank all the many people in industry, science, and government who contributed their ideas and experience, and who will have important roles in realising the plan.
