Professor Brent Young holds a Chair in Food and Process Systems Engineering in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at The University of Auckland. He is also the Director of the Industrial Information and Control Centre and Chair of the University’s Food and Health Programme. Brent has significant research and engineering experience and expertise in developing digital models, shadows and twins for food and process systems, which he also teaches on. A Fellow of both the Institution of Chemical Engineers UK and Engineering NZ, he was the recipient of the 2014 Australasian Award of Excellence in Chemical Engineering (Teaching). He has published more than 200 refereed publications and is co-author of two novel teaching texts on process control.
