NZFSSRC welcomes new Board Chair, Collier Isaacs

The Centre is delighted to welcome Mr Collier Isaacs as Chair of the Board, for a two-year term, effective 1 July. Collier brings both governance and executive level experience to the role, along with broad experience of the NZ primary sector, marketing, science, technology transfer, quality assurance and regulatory and business development.

This extraordinary skill base is built on Collier’s most recent roles: Chair of DeeResearch and Velvet Antler Research NZ, consulting at the Ministry for Primary Industries, Beef + Lamb NZ, and CEO at FarmIQ Systems. Before this, Collier held senior executive roles at Landcorp Farming and Meat NZ, and was CEO at Deer Industry NZ.

In the course of his career, Collier has formed sound relationships with the sector commercial participants, industry organisations, Māori and government agencies. He was awarded Honorary Lifetime Membership of the NZ Deer Farmers Association for ‘Service to the Deer Industry’.
Collier will steer the next mature phase of the Centre, which is expanding its member base through joint research projects and pan-industry initiatives and benefits, such as listeria detection and control, and the application of genomics technologies.

The Centre is grateful to Dr Kevin Marshall, Board Chair since its inception, for guiding the team and its partners to a workable operating model, which pulls together the efforts and common interests of industry, science, government, and of course, public health.  We all wish him well. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe.
