Dr Pierre Venter (PhD) is currently the General Manager of Innovation Services at Fonterra’s Research and Develop Centre based in New Zealand. He is an experienced academic (Professor Food Safety Microbiology, before joining Fonterra) and applied scientist in the dairy industry. His research interests are primarily around food safety risk assessment and the science that underpins food safety & quality risk management, fundamental food microbiology, risk frameworks, and new technology application in risk assessment. Pierre has published several peer reviewed papers, several book chapters, patents, and technical reports and represents the food industry on several international counsels. He is passionate about developing people and leading groups towards achieving strategic goals.
